The phone itself is amazing for the money however I had to give a 4 star review as I initially received a bottle of listerine. THE MOST EXPENSIVE BOTTLE OF LISTERINE IN HISTORY. This was sorted quickly so I can’t fault them.

Fast and great screen

This phone has been discounted quite a bit since its introduction, which makes it an amazing value.

A lot of people equate quality with weight, so many have complained the phone is too light and therefore it must be cheap. But the reason it's light is because the entire shell is plastic rather than glass or metal. So you get a cheaper shell and better hardware. Sure, when the Edge 20 is naked it may not have a luxury weight, but I always have a case on it anyway.

Pros:
* The screen is awesome- bright and great colours. The organic LED panel is a huge improvement over a backlight LCD. The resolution is 1080x2400, which is a lot more pixels than a budget phone. The screen also has a 144hz refresh rate, but I keep mine at 60hz to save the battery.

* It's stock Android. There's no extra GUI layer over Android like Samsung, Oppo and OnePlus use.

* It's fast. Web pages, Maps and banking apps load super fast and are a pleasure to use. I don't do any gaming, so I can't comment on the speed of games.

* It's very thin (and light).

* Battery life is great. I can easily get 2 days use from a single charge even when I'm looking at Teams messages several times per hour.

* It received Android 12 in April 2022.

* No headphone socket (this may be good or bad for you).

* It has aptX HD for wireless headphones.

Cons:
* The camera is just ok. It's equivalent to 12MP, not 108MP. It has a second lens that's a fixed 3x optical zoom and a third lens that's wide angle. The camera isn't as good as an iPhone or a Google Pixel, but I've seen worse.

* No headphone socket (this may be good or bad for you)

* Motorola 'peek view' does override the stock Android lock screen. I don't like it because you can't adjust the sensitivity of when the notifications appear. Notifications are supposed to show when you pick up the phone, but if the phone is sitting on a table your footsteps are enough to trigger the screen to turn on.

Just a quick note on fast charging. Batteries should never be charged super fast as this will reduce the lifespan of the battery. They should always be charged 'low and slow' to maintain a health. I will never use the 35 watt charger that came with the Edge 20. I only charge it with a traditional 1 amp 5 v charger.

If you're thinking of buying a budget phone, I recommend that you spend a bit more to get a fast phone and a better screen. After all, you're going to use it everyday! I've used this phone for 2 weeks now and I really like the speed and screen.

I like the style and the speed I so not like no outlet for earbuds and no inlet for a memory card possibly in hind sight the two missing features are a must for me as I have 125 gig mem card with over 10 songs

Bought this as an upgrade from my huawei P20 pro which i gave to my son, first impression was that it feels cheap! probadly because of its weight! secondly the camera although is 108mp is no match for the P20's 64mp no where near as sharp or vivid but ok!
screen is not as sharp as the P20 but its still good, sadly its not quite what i expected but its ok! good size screen and lots of good features.
maybe im expecting too much for £425? compared to some its reasonably priced,

I realise that this is not a top range phone but the fingerprint reader is very poor. It is difficult to access when using any type of case on the phone. The battery life is only 24 hrs with very little use. However from 40% capacity the battery life drops to zero within 4hrs. So disappointing as I have had Motorolas before and they were much better. I would not recommend this model.
