I bought these to use on a hot smoker. Simply removed the knob from the lid, reamed out the screw hole slightly and with a few washers so it doesn't sit quite so deeply in the smoker, bolted into place. Works a treat and allows me to regulate the heat for cooking and smoking thicker pieces of fish and meat. I've used one of these over a dozen times and it seems to work reliably. Certainly very good for the price!
The cheaper option available but does the job. You can’t expect perfection it’s accurate within about 10 degrees always runs a little high. Long probe very simple to drill a hole and pop it in. Make sure you punch a dot first if you have an enamelled bbq. Easy to read the sections and temperatures aren’t too small if you want specifics.
