I'm a veteran at vacuum sealing, having been doing this for the last 30 years or so. I've used several brands of sealer, from the well-known brands to some that were only around for a short time. I bought this Potane sealer and, while it did a decent job of vacuum/ sealing I was somewhat disappointed in the fact the unit shut itself off as soon as it thought it'd gotten out all the air and immediately sealed the bag. Unfortunately, this wasn't true; I still had my old unit and I compared identical packages of ground beef, one by the Potane & one by the old Mooka. There was a distinct difference between the two: the Potane package hadn't gotten quite the hard vacuum as the older sealer. If it hadn't shut off prematurely I think it would have been great, but, after putting up about 18 packages it was clear these wouldn't last as long in my deep freeze as those put up by other units. I don't know why it was set to cut off before getting all the air out (to be fair, it did get about 95%) but it did. I even tried to help it by expressing the air from the lower corners, etc. but that didn't seem to change things much.

I'll probably keep the Potane for refrigerator items and short-term freezing and get another sealer the next time I plan to restock my freezers.

I've gone through quite a few vacuum sealers because I seal about a dozen bags a week. This one has a wide seal strip on it, and so far, I've only had a couple of failed seals. I've only had it a few months, but I have high hopes this one is going to last. The only dings I have are that it doesn't have a juice tray you can remove to clean and there is only a little handheld cutter that makes it hard to make a straight cut. FYI, they make vacuum sealer rolls that have a cutter on the box now, so that solved that problem.

The instructions were a little bit hard to understand. I played with it a little bit before actually starting to use it. I wanted to know what to do and not do. I know you can use a food saver on certain foods, but the user manual does not have a better description on which foods for which settings. I had to play around with it in order to understand it. But once I undestood better how to use it, things went a lot faster. So, all in all, it is a good product for what I used it for.

I got this for myself, and the more expensive one for my son’s house. We all love ours! The only “complaint” I have is having to open and close completely with every new bag. With that being said I want to review my Potane Vacuum Sealer Machine, 85kPa Pro Vacuum Food Sealer. The company I purchased it from is Wuyundirect and I feel I need to let Amazon customers know that this seller is “FANTASTIC” and yes I meant to use all caps.
I ordered my Potane sealer on March 21, 2022. I looked at several sealers before I purchased this model most of them less expensive but I chose the Potane. I liked the features of the machine, and most of all I liked the fact it had a 5 year warranty. I was replacing a machine that died and it lasted about a year. I loved the Potane; I used it for everything, all the presets and food modes worked perfectly needless to say I was a happy camper. January 13, 2023 I was sealing some groceries for the freezer and the sealer part seemed to stop working, as it turned out the right side clip broke. I was disappointed but I contacted the seller and let them know what happened to my unit and to my surprise I got an apology and they replaced my unit. I liked the features of the Potane but I bought it because of the warranty and it was worth the extra money I paid. And to Wuyundirect thank you for standing by your warranty. The Potane Vacuum Sealer Machine, 85kPa Pro Vacuum Food Sealer is a great addition to your kitchen tools. It will save you money and help your food stores last.

Shot a deer on my Pennsylvania farm on the last afternoon of the season, and all the local meat cutters were closed! With a neighbor's help, we hung the buck in my tractor pavilion. At 5 AM I checked, the coyotes had ignored, it so I skinned and quartered it and put the pieces in the fridge to age.
Amazon to the rescue! Three days later, after reading many product reviews, I ordered this product. A brand I had never heard of. It was delivered over night, and with the help of UTube I cut over 50 pounds of venison into steaks, chops, burger and roasts.
This little machine did an oustanding job of vacuum sealing my venison into serving packages. I made 6 pounds of venison terrine courtesy of the Auberge Chez François Cookbook (written by the proprietor of the McLean Virginia restaurant of that name) and vacuum packed five pounds for future use.
Here it is, one year later. Friends and neighbors in our wine society still raving over the terrines. Grilling is great. All packages perfectly preserved, no freezer burn, and I am now an "experienced" meat cutter, closing the hunter experience circle from the stalk to the table.
Love this machine. As a bonus, the cost, including overnightshipping, was less than half the cost of commercial processing, and I get to keep the knowledge and equipment.
As an 84 year old, I can attest that I am one old dog who can still be taught new tricks! 8~)

I bought my machine in February 2021. It stopped working tonight. I probably used it every two weeks or so when I made my grocery purchases. Now, I have to buy another and probably won’t be getting this brand again.
I could understand if I used it a lot, but I didn’t. It should have lasted longer.
***Edited to add that the manufacturer is sending a replacement! I sent them a message and they replied within two days.

I do not usually take the time to do reviews, but Potane and their customer service deserve accolades. When I received my machine, it worked perfectly. I used it for a week or so, packing all sorts of foods in bags and jars. Then I made the mistake of trying to jar cocoa powder. After the disaster, the machine no longer worked properly. I contacted Potane customer service, explained what happened, and that I figured it was my fault. I inquired about where to send it in for repair. They asked for a short video demonstrating the problem. Then they sent an email that explained the malfunction and that they were sending a replacement for me, free of charge.
