Verry nice and accurate, but sometimes you need to remove the probes jack and put it again to fix some minor problems. Good quality product but I expected premium quality with no problems at all for the price I paid.

This sensor reacts fast and allows me to track the temps on the smoker from inside the house. It has been damp multiple times and still works. The four probes let me monitor ambient temperature and several pieces of meat.
It does not like high powered chargers and will not charge. Normal chargers work well but not my MAC 87w charger.

I was a little skeptical of the 5 star reviews across the board for this unit but I decided to take a chance on it and I'll say that I've been pretty impressed!

I was trying to decide between purchasing an InkBird 6XS and a Thermo Pro TP08s. I was looking at these two models because I wanted a thermometer that would let me monitor and set an alarm for a low and a high temp so I could have more control over my smoker temps. What pushed me over the edge into the InkBird camp over the Thermo Pro was the price, the magnetic base and the rechargeable battery (via USB-C).

I had to return the first unit because it would turn on and connect to the app but the screen was dead. When the replacement showed up, I tested all of the probes in boiling water and they all registered as accurate. The readings between the head unit and the app are almost instant. I was originally skeptical of bluetooth thermometers because I kept reading that the range on them can be a problem. But I decided to take a chance on this. My grill is on my back patio and I've been able to walk all around my house without losing connection to the thermometer. I even sat on my couch and watched some TV while maintaining a connection. Due to the size of my house, I was probably nowhere near the 150ft distance but I was able to stay connected through multiple interior walls of separation.

I gave it 4 stars because the magnet on the base isn't very strong. I have a CharGriller Duo and the magnet will slide off or lose its grip if I don't position it exactly right. It'll slide down the face of the grill. I don't think it'd fall off but it slips enough for me to at least be a little concerned that it could take a tumble someday and hit the patio floor.

The other reason I gave it 4 stars, is that while I like the app, the last update it received was in November of 2018. It's the nature of using an app as the primary way of interaction that it could become abandoned or out of date but after almost a year of not being updated, I'm left in the dark as to whether it's going to be updated again. I don't think the app will ever stop working per se but it could affect the longevity of the product if it is truly abandoned or not being developed anymore.

All that being said, for Less than $50, I got a bluetooth thermometer with excellent range, accurate probes (6 of them no less), rechargeable battery via USB-C, a decent app interface that lets me set my low/high temp values and a way to monitor the temps in my smoker and in the meat from the comfort of my couch.

I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

TL;DR

What I like:
- Rechargeable battery
- Battery lasts a long time. I've done 4 or 5 multi hour cooks (5+ hours) and the battery is still around 40% charged.
- The app has a lot of functionality with the ability for custom settings and most importantly, low temp/high temp monitoring
- Bluetooth range, for me, has been very good.
- Magnetic base

What I don't like:
- Magnet isn't as strong as it could be
- App hasn't been updated for almost a year
- No ability to set custom alarm tone in the app. The main alarm is super annoying and no way to change volume/tone. You can turn it off or set it to vibrate but it'd be nice to have more control over it in general (which is why the app not being updated gets stars knocked off)

This bluetooth meat thermometer has a simple interface allows you to use six probes and has a pretty decent range. I really have no complaints. The only thing that ever really bugs me about this is the app. When it comes time to set temperature other than the pre-programmed ones on the app it gets very annoying and counterintuitive. That part of the app is not easy to use. However, if you use it as a basic meat thermometer, you won’t have any issues.

Opening the box, everything seemed in great shape. I did not read the instructions at first and I was able to figure out the thermometer with no issues. I downloaded the app and it paired to bluetooth the first attempt.

First cook I did was chicken breasts on my Green Mountain Grill. There were 6 breasts so I used all 5 meat probes along with the ambient temperature probe. The ambient temperature probe held steady within +-15 degrees I set my grill so no surprises there. What did surprise me was the hot spots on my grill apparently cooking the breasts at much different temperatures.

My chicken was ranging from 115-145 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes sense because before having the bluetooth thermometer I would simply spot check and pull all breasts around 160-165. Some would be dry while others would be moist. The temperature probes helped me confirm my suspicions that the grill had hot spots all along the perimeter of the grill grates.

Since the initial test, I have used the thermometer extensively with many kinds of meat. Tested the temperature with a 3rd party instant read and it was usually spot on accurate. Sometimes it would read way high but I think I was putting the probe where it gets direct heat from the grill. A little adjustment cleared it right up.

Testing the range of the Bluetooth connection, I monitored the app from every room in my house with no issues. I even walked outside the front door and all the way to the street, well past the 150 ft recommendation and a whole house blocking the radio frequency. Still monitored the temps just fine.

The app is pretty basic but very easy to use. The only con that I could find is it disconnects from bluetooth after so many minutes of screen lock. I really don't think that is Inkbird's fault, I think that is a limitation with iOS.

Battery life is exceptional. When I received the device, it registered 19% charge. I did not charge the device and accidentally left it on overnight. The next day I ran it again for a longer cook and by the end, it still had 12% charge. I continued using for 3 more cooks before I accidentally left it on again and finally drained the battery. Charged it up using the provided USB cable and continued use.

I planned on purchasing a much more expensive brand but decided to go with Inkbird due to their reputation among my BBQ forums. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would buy again.

I've used this now for the past few months. First, the positives:
1) The range is great
2) The accuracy is on point
3) Easy to use. The app is intuitive. Lets you set different alarms for different probes and different cuts of meat, all easily customized.
4) You can graph out temps of any meats vs time. I typically use one probe to monitor the temp of the smoker and then monitor temps of whatever I'm cooking.
5) If you lose connectivity, it reconnects quickly as soon as you are in range.
6) Long battery life. I haven't had to charge mine since the initial charge, and it's been a few months and a lot of cooks

The negatives:

1) If you close out all apps on your phone or turn your phone off and turn it back on, you lose your graph (I would like to see an update where the app runs in the background)
2) If you get out of range, you lose your graph and it resets

Overall, I love this wireless thermometer. The option for 6 probes alone makes it worth it. I typically monitor 2 or 3 cuts of meat as well as the temp of the grill. Great for data acquisition. Just don't get out of range or turn off your Bluetooth connectivity.

In the future, I'd love to see Wi-Fi incorporated, but otherwise this is a very budget friendly and usable wireless thermometer. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for ease of use and an intuitive app to boot.
