Hello All. This is my first NATO strap. I have a 7.5" wrist. I decided to pair this with my VAER A5 field watch to give it a new look. I am not 100% sold on the color combo, I went with this one because it was on sale for about 6 dollars. It was a great way to see if I like the Look and feel of the strap.
Installation - This was very easy. The strap gives you instructions that are easy to follow. I had mine on the strap in about 5 minutes. Feel - I love the nato strap. The watch does not feel heavy on the wrist and does not grab too tightly. I also have a rubber and nylon quick-release strap for this watch. I would put this Nato strap at the top of my list for comfort. The horween black leather strap I got with the watch is a dressier and more comfortable look. I would instead save that strap for dressier occasions and not everyday wear.
The only negative would be that little bit that sticks out. I opted for the long, so not certain if the regular size would fit better. I ended up just tucking the extra back into the loop with no issues.
I am definitely going to keep looking for good deals on these straps and add them for special occasions and such. I have my eye on the red, white, and blue strap.
No doubt Barton make good quality nylon straps. I like the fact the keeper is fabric as well, matching the main strap. What would make these straps 5* in my opinion would be for the keeper to be floating or sliding. That would give you so much more flexibility especially if the strap is longer on your wrist. Single pass versions would also be great as there is no need to double up on the material between wrist and caseback. Otherwise a good strap.
picked up the black strap with the red and white center stripe to match the look of my Casio Duro (with black dial and bezel, with the red second hand). As I didn't like the rubber straps it came with and I'm not likely to go diving any time soon, I opted to switch it for a nice nato. It installs easy, feels good on the wrist, and keeps the casual feel I want for this particular watch but gives it that extra little personality thanks to thin strip of colors that compliment the colors of the watch itself.
If you want something a little more rugged than leather strap, but more casual than a full bracelet - can't go wrong with these nato straps. Especially for the price, it's not super high grade but you get exactly what you paid for. I'd definitely look into another one when I want to put another of my watches on a nato.
I love the Barton watch bands, I own several and they all work great. My favorite are the silicone/cordura style, but I also like these nato style bands as well. Super comfy for the summer. I don't have any complaints at all, I'll buy more in the future as well.
