Persistent metallic taste & discolorations

Bought 2 of them. One id working well but the other 1 has discolorations no matter what I do - and adds a very distinctive metallic taste to everything cooked in it, again and again and again.
Probably can’t return it, so in the garbage it goes. Disappointing.

Not useful on an induction stove

The heat distribution across the grill is so poor that it's impossible to make pancakes. The only place that is warm is directly under the induction coil so only half of the pancake is cooked. Anything near the edge of the griddle is raw.

Hi, I will add some thermal images in a few days. Upon receiving my item I immediatly placed it on my Bosch 800 series induction range. Thew first thing I noticed was that it rocked slightly being about 1/8" off on opposite corners. I first started the griddle up at low temps and worked my way up. Even though it was not in fuill contact with the glass it still worked fine. However it is annoying as it easily spins if you are not holding it. (By the way the handle gets HOT! it reached over 200 degrees during my test)

So once the griddle made it to about 200' I noticed that the warp became much more detectable. However, as I stated before it does not seem to affect the heat dissipation as the center of the griddle heated up quite evenly. The question I have right now is will it continue to warp as I use it? that's something I don't have an answer to yet but will update the review as I use it.

So yes, I can confirm it will work on Induction ranges just be aware it's a pain when it spins or shifts on you.

The griddle warps when heated

Bought this griddle a little while back now, and any time I try to use it on my glass-top electric stove, it bows to the point that only one point of the griddle is in contact with the stove. It'll still function, but not very well due to the lack of heat transfer between the stove and the griddle, and it also has an annoying tendency to spin out of place at the slightest nudge.

Believe the other reviews that say the griddle is warped and bent right out of the box. It may be usable but if using it as a griddle with any kind of liquid it will more than likely run off the griddle and onto the surface below.
Upon arrival, the box looked like it had been through the next world war. However, I'm fairly confident that the damage to this griddle was NOT done during transit but rather it was simply just made that way.
Very disappointed in the Lodge brand on this griddle. I was planning to purchase more carbon steel cookware from Lodge but due to the quality of this grill I will seriously reconsider.
UPDATE:
I RETURNED THE GRIDDLE AND WAS SENT ANOTHER. THE REPLACEMENT WAS BETTER BUT STILL A BIT WARPED AND BOWED IN THE MIDDLE. I INCREASED THE RATING FROM TWO STARS TO THREE STARS BUT STILL DON'T BELIEVE I GOT FIFTY DOLLARS OF VALUE FROM THIS PRODUCT!

Warning- Smaller than advertised

I wanted a deep griddle. This one says it’s 2.25 inches deep. It is not- it is hardly an inch. That’s outside dimensions . The actual depth of the griddle is 3/4”- very deceiving and disappointing . The other two dimensions are also off . The griddle cooking surface is 17x9. I expect this type of thing from China, but not from Lodge.... it is heavy duty that’s for sure. The price also went up literally overnight from $69.99 to $94.95, which Amazon “crossed out” and “faked” a sale for $79.95.... Amazon is getting sketchy folks. Quality control, pricing, and Delivery are bit reliable anymore . Pay attention . for $70 this thing is going back.

One of the main selling points to this product is its supposed superior heat distribution. I did not experience this. I was super excited to use it. I fried bacon with it the first time I used it. First of all this griddle needs to be about an inch wider. I am using a gas stove. My experience with griddles has taught me to use less heat. That is what I did this time. Somewhere around medium low. My bacon turned out burned in the middle and very undercooked on the ends. Don’t recommend this product for the price. It is not as advertised. a shame from lodge that makes really great products.

Non stick properties are as promised. I saw several reviews about warping, which I considered but thought might have just been a problem for induction.

Nope, the one I purchased is so warped that if I don’t hold it when flipping an over easy egg it spins like a top.

Meh, lackluster heat distribution

Bought this to use as a griddle on gas stove top. Heat distribution is so bad that the middle doesn’t cook anything and the parts under the burners burns things quickly. Might work better on a gas grill but I don’t recommend using it on a stovetop.

When doing my research into carbon steel, I expected this item to be lighter mostly. I see no difference between this and my cast iron. It’s very heavy, still pretty sticky even after seasoned and the heat distribution is not that great. I bought a different brand wok carbon steel as well and is significantly lighter, smoother surface and seasons better.
