Have purchased two of these for an XL BGE. It starts off great, water resistant and protection; however, after one full season outside the material turns brittle. Any snag or pull to take the cover off, it rips holes and tears the cover. The color quickly fades after one year. Not reasonable to expect to buy a new cover every spring.

The shell was bought to protect my green egg in its nest the whole season outside on the deck. After one season the fabric lost its color. The outside desintegrates and gets brittle. You can punch a hole in it with your fingernail. It was not expected to last forever but one season is too little for a better review.

Update June/18
The shell is done. You can poke holes into it with no effort using just my little finger.
Totally disappointed. I requested warranty help from amazon - lets see if at least their customer service stands up to the promises they make. That might rank up the stars agin - i keep you posted.

It's a nice enough looking cover and I think I have taken good care of it till now. Unfortunately noticed that the top of the cover has a L shaped tear on it (as though it was caught with something) which clearly is no the case as the top of the grill has nothing for it to get stuck on. So kind of not very durable...

I was really looking forward to receiving this product. Within 10 minutes of it being delivered, I put it on my green egg. I went to pull the drawstring underneath and it broke right in half. Also, the instructions mention clips for the grill legs and mine didn't come with any. So, within 5 minutes of it being out of the box, it was back in it and ready for a return. Now to search for another one...

This thing is water proof. But it didn't last more than a little over 18 months, it's worn out by wind and weather is is torn apart. For an outdoor protection cover I'd expected a little more, well quite a bit more. Looking for an alternative already.

This product does not fit the large green egg. The diameter of the opening I like 36 inches in diameter. I ordered this while traveling for work and missed the return period. Highly disappointed in this.

This is not waterproof at all and after several months of use the outside has mold spots on it. Not being waterproof totally defeats the purpose. I have to let my grill cool down, put a black garbage bag over it and then put this cover on it. If I had known this cover would look like this in such a short time I wouldn't have ever bought it.

A large cover does not fit a large big green properly. It fits over the top but super loose around the sides and bottom even with the elastic band sinched all the way in. Also it does leaves about 6 inches of the bottom exposed. Poor description

This cover fits okay (to big) but is not a big deal, but it does not allow moisture to escape. When I used it previously, my egg and accessories would be damp. Not good for ceramic expensive grills you pay a lot for and want to kept for a lifetime.
