I just find it to be more trouble then it's worth. Poor backlight, instructions vary (and don't work) from different sources, beeped all night.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thin plastic band likely to break

I had to return it because the band was very thin and is likely to break in a few years based on past experience. It looks thicker in the pictures. I did get a refund so that was good.

3.0 out of 5 stars The little watch that tried...and almost succeeded.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 10 March 2014
Color: multiVerified Purchase
The main problem with this watch for me is it tries to do too much and relies heavily on the user.
With Day light Savings time not being universal in when it starts, when it ends, and which countries decide to use it, it is a lot of work for some functions

Day Light Savings time really hurts this watch and what it tries to do.

This Casio watch is priced right and pleasant to look at. It has four main functions\modes.
1 Timekeeping
2 World Time
3 Stop watch
4 Alarm

I'll focus on the first 2 as this is where it shines and falls short for me.

In TIME KEEPING mode --Works Great
You can set 4 different times and tab through them with the bottom right button. This is very useful and quite easy to set up. Upon setting up your local time the next three will be based off that and you only need to set Day Light Savings time on or off accordingly. This is easy to maintain and the world map reflects the time zone you are currently in.

In WORLD TIME mode you can quickly tab through over 40 cities around the globe. This is where the watch falls short. You need to set each city depending on their Day Light Savings time. Some cities do not use DST, some start in the middle of March, Some start at end of March, ect.. If you do not mind doing this for each city in WORLD TIME which will require you to look up each of their DST information then this is a nice function. I'm not at all interested in doing this. This is a function an atomic watch would excel at but a manual setting watch it's not worth the effort

The rest of the features are more than gimmicks. The world map is functional, especially if you set the DST for each of the cities in WORLD TIME. The analog dial always shows your current time no matter what mode you are in or which of the 4 cities you are on in TIME KEEPING mode. The light is unbalanced but sufficient to light the entire dial. You can change it to 3 seconds from it's factory 1.5 seconds which makes it much more useful.

If you want this watch to keep track the current time in four cities it is very easy to set up and works quite well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be great, but the buttons ruin it
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 23 October 2017

On the face of it (heh heh) this COULD be a really great watch for travel and day to day use. It has a timer, a stopwatch, alarms, built in world time, dual time, it's waterproof and made of plastic. I've had it nearly a year now with daily use and it's not even dinged up or scratches on the face. So, for $17 you might say (as I did) wow! What's the down side?

There are actually three, one big and two small. The biggest issue is that the buttons are too easy to press accidentally, especially the time zone one, which changes the main display time. If you wear the watch on your left arm, it's pressed against your wrist if you flex your hand. If you reach into your pocket, the button is easily pressed. If your watch catches against anything, the time zone button gets pressed. More times than I can count, the time changes on me randomly, and you usually don't realize it unless you're looking very closely at the zone indicator. Sure it's easier to realize an hour difference when you're in your own time zone in your own routine, but when traveling in different time zones this is a huge problem.

Second, the "home time" dial is extremely difficult to read. The hands are hair thin and look just like the refer marks on the face, making it very confusing without very close inspection in good light. I ignored this warning from other reviewers, dismissing them as old blind people or something. But, as with old blind people in movies, they were wise and should have been heeded!

Third, the illuminator light is totally useless. Totally. Do not expect to know what time it is in the dark if you're relying on this watch (unless you also have a flashlight).

All of these issues have been mentioned in other reviews and should be considered before buying. If you can live with these, then it's a great watch. But If you can't, you've been warned...

3.0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money

Sometimes, well most times, you get what you pay for and that's exactly the case with this Casio watch. When my old Timex Ironman watch need to be replaced I opted for this Casio based in part on my experience with my G-shock watch; its not a fair comparison.
Yes, this is a cheap watch, less than $20 but honestly, for less than another $10 you can get a solid and much better Timex Ironman. The issues with this watch begin with the display. Because Casio is intent on cramming as much information as possible on the screen you can't read much of it. The display is cramped and small. The world map is essentially pointless as is the faux sweeping hand dial, while the digital display is too small to really be of value. The other problem is that yes, while the watch features multiple alarms they are all of the "all or nothing" variety, by this I mean that the alarms are all daily, there is no way to set separate weekday and weekend alarms like you can on an Ironman. That's a major flaw in my opinion. Another issue is the "Illuminator" feature, again, based on the G-shock I thought that this would be an even backlighting, instead you end up with a 1980s like single light source in the lower left hand corner of the display that is very uneven, in other words, cheap and disappointing.

Finally, speaking of disappointing, the band, really, this is a very cheap and low quality band, my expectation is that it would surely fail quickly, especially compared to the G-shock or Ironman bands that I am used to. In a sense that's exactly the problem, when compared to better watches its immediately apparent that this is an inexpensive watch that is in many ways disposable but to that end, why bother? I would much rather pay the difference and get a watch that works better, feels better and will likely last longer and that's exactly what I did. I returned this and got another Ironman.

If you want the least expensive watch and don't mind it being cheap then sure, its an ok watch but if you have any expectation of quality, buyer beware, you will get what you pay for.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok

This watch is ok. I've had it for a while, it's a great watch, it has a couple different time zones and date and everything like that. But the light sucks and it constantly changes the time on me. I have to put it back to the proper time almost every time I look at my watch, and with my schedule that's a lot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Issue after 1 year

Sturdy watch, but the battery died just after 1 year. The 10 year battery warranty is not reliable. Not even close.

UPDATE: so I opened up the watch to replace the battery. I reinserted the original battery and surprise, everything came back on again. So good news the battery is still going, bad news I'm worried there's another issue. The display seems brighter than before. 17 hours so far and still working. Adding another star.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent watch for the price, but some issues
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 27 July 2020
Color: multiVerified Purchase
I purchased this watch a bit over 5 years ago. It finally kicked the bucket for good. After two years, the plastic band completely broke. It had been cracking since about one year after I got it. I replaced the band with a fabric one (which was also more comfortable) and the watch itself continued to work fine. After a bit less than 4 years, the battery started to give out (definitely not the 10-year battery advertised). For about six months, it would fade out, reset to the default time, and start working again. I finally replaced the battery nine months ago, and the new battery still works (the light will turn on), but the display died. Given that it was so cheap, I'm not too annoyed that it only lasted five years.
While it was still working, it was quite a good watch. The time zones feature was quite helpful. It survived a wide assortment of water activities in both salt and fresh water, though I didn't test it on any deep diving. Overall, decent watch, poor quality of band, and don't expect it to actually last 10 years.
