To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This feels like a quality item but the ‘non stick’ coating quickly failed and started to bubble and peel where food got stuck on, despite us only using a silicone fish slice and a plastic brush on it. Perhaps it shouldn’t go in the dishwasher but I didn’t read this warning before purchasing, nor do I want to have an oven tray that needs cleaned by hand every time! I’m now looking for a more expensive tray and will read the reviews rather than just relying on the star rating.
I purchased two of these trays 3 months ago I have used one of the trays regularly and I have kept the second tray as a spare. When they trays arrived I was overjoyed they were a great price and the quality seemed good. They have a good weight to them too. At first the food used to cook really well and evenly but after a few uses the tray started to lose its colour and mark very easily. I have included a photo to show what has happened to the tray that I use regularly after 3 months. In the photo you can see one tray on the left which is brand new and unused and the tray on the right is used regularly. I have also included a couple of closeup photos. I have tried many different products and methods to clean the tray and nothing works. Unfortunately, I won't be repurchasing. I will continue my hunt for a good baking tray. Please let me know if you found this review helpful.
We brought the oven tray only a few months ago, using it no more than once a week. Firstly it is seeping rust when washed from the edges. Secondly but most importantly on cooking pork chops, the non-stick coating came off with the meat. VERY DANGEROUS, if we had not noticed the silver colour of the tray was exposed and the non-stick black coating had come away we could have eaten the meat with the non-stick coating. Not impressed with this purchase at all!
Right folks, don't be kidded by the masterclass professional 20 year guarantee and 5 years non stick guarantee. These are beautifully heavy and on initial inspection look like good quality. Don't believe what you read about these in their advertising. In one word, they are "rubbish". We've had ours for just over one month. We're already having to scrape bits of burned on food off them whilst washing (with a plastic spatula), the non stick chipped off with any contact with anything metallic (rested a cold pan on one, don't do that) and now there's a burned stain where some grease from a ham cooked solid onto it. Washing the stain meant that even more of the non stick coating came off. And they're just over a month old. I'm guessing that when the five year guarantee period comes around, they'll be a long distant memory in the rubbish bin. Do yourself a favour, don't buy these.
I love this tray, though it must be said, largely because it happens to be the exact perfect dimensions for my oven and that pleases me a great deal. The tray is just incredibly solid. I've seen others remark they could use it for sledding in the snow. Absolutely you could. It gives me a large, flat area with a rim to prevent anything spilling over the side. It's perfect to bake cookies and the like on. Now I've seen many people complain about the coating peeling off. I've not experienced this but I've not put any foodstuffs in direct contact with the tray; I've always used baking paper on it. When I wash it, even if some cookie mix or fat has spilled onto the metal itself, it typically washes away with little effort. I am fairly gentle when I wash it, just a few wipes with soapy water, no dishwasher, no very abrasive material and I've had no problem with the coating sticking. I don't know if the problems other have reported are because they've mistreated the tray or perhaps they're just using it more often in harsher conditions than I. May this is an issue that presents itself for some, not for me. But I think, for baking cookies on, using baking parchment as is...normal...this tray is brilliant.
I was looking for new trays to replace my well used but very rusty Lakeland all purpose oven trays. I chose these Master Class Non Stick Oven Trays due to the reviews they had received, and the price. I bought 2 and sadly I have been very disappointed. If the problem was with just one, I could argue that perhaps it was just a bad batch. But the faults are present on both the trays I purchased. The issues are as follows: 1. Anything above 200C, they warp and buckle 2. They cannot be used under the grill as the not only buckle but make a startling sound when they do so. It is almost as though it is beginning to fully twist. When they cool however, they do revert back to their original shape. 3. The non stick coating is worthless. Within the first wash, the coating started to come off even having used the soft side of the dish sponge. It actually peels off like flaky skin! 4. The underside rim, if not dried fully by hand, begins to rust. 5. It is not totally non stick - some foods still tend to stick such as chicken, or fish with skin on and when things stick, it removes some of the non stick coating with it.
It's positives are that they are fairly heavy in weight giving the illusion that they are sturdy and good quality but sadly, it is merely that. An illusion.
My next purchase of oven trays will be Mermaid. Of all the brands I have tried, these are by far the superior ones in my humble opinion.
Used occasionally, and cleaned with non abrasive clothes. Had since mid December 2021, less than 3 months and the non stick coating is coming away. Apparently guaranteed for 5 years, but unable to return as the return date has passed by 3 days. Don't understand why, when it is supposed to be guaranteed.
The tray looks sturdy and well-made, and is just the right size for the oven. On the first few uses, it was great. But it didn't take long before food started sticking to the tray and the non-stick coating started showing serious signs of wear, despite being careful when removing food and when cleaning the tray.
Bought to replace a couple of trays we'd left at a venue after a 'do'. Following the rule of Delia, we wanted thick and sturdy trays that wouldn't warp or flex in the oven. These are just the job. Heavier than any we had previously, you can't even flex them by twisting them. Heavy, and quality feel to them. Easy cleaning by hand (we don't have a dishwasher apart from me) Can't comment on the longevity of the coating yet as we only just got them, but the weight and feel of them inspires confidence out if the box. We're really pleased and recommend them heartily. You won't be disappointed.
