I was hesitant to buy these based on some negative reviews, but hopeful on the positive reviews. The biggest mistake users are doing is gently hanging the probe into boiling water. FOLKS! you will not get higher than 212 f using that notion and all you will do is create condensation inside the probe. Since this is a Smoker / BBQ / Grill thermometer doesn't it make sense to use dry heat? Find yourself a quality thermometer that you trust and place this item in an oven. Put your oven thru some temperature steps and compare to these probes. Since these thermometers can be calibrated, you should not have a problem. Both mine are within 10 degree f and I can accept that.
Now, adapting these to your grills and smokers might need some drilling. Stop by a "Box Store" and get a "uni-bit" or a "step-bit" depending on what part of the country you live in.

Minor flaws aside, I would recommend them.

I used these to replace the OEM thermometers that came on my Charbroil grill. The Charbroil thermometers are the definition of "you get what you pay for" and were not accurate once since buying the grill. Anyways, these were recommended by... someone... I can't recall. Not important.
The low down: These things work pretty well. They're not the most sophisticated or high-tech, but... they're $20 for two of them. For the penny-pinchers, that's a pretty good deal. There's only two real issues I have with them: 1) I had to buy a special drill bit to install them, and 2) they gather moisture.
Installation *after* buying the drill bit was a breeze, but... having to buy extra tools wasn't really part of the plan and "drives" the cost up a little. I got to buy a new tool, in a sense, so no complaints there, but that's not everyone's agenda. Anyways, I had to drill roughly 3/4" holes into my grill to install them. That's not that big of a deal because if you're grill already has thermometers on it, there's already holes piloted for you. Put a layer of something in the grill to catch the metal shards and presto-change-o... new thermometers.
Moisture retention is, so far, annoying at worst. It hasn't effected the performance of the thermometers at all so far (Purchased in June 22. Now September 22). The water does eventually evaporate out with time and heat though, and, to reiterate, so far it has had zero effect on their performance. That said, it's certainly not a pro.
Beyond those two gripes though, these things have been great. My smoke game has improved thanks to them, but the real help was with grilling chicken and burgers and such. I'm giving them 4 stars basically because of what I mentioned above (the moisture, mostly), but I would still recommend these things... especially if you bought a cheaper grill (maybe Weber's OEM stuff is better than Charbroil. I don't know, but Charbroil is more of a bargain brand grill anyways). For $20 though, these are a solid upgrade to a bargain grill, or a grill that doesn't have thermometers on it at all.
If they break, I'll update, but so far they've taken drought and hard and heavy rain like champs. I would recommend them.

They are NOT accurate. Read the reviews.

The description says the thermometers are accurate. Mine are off as much as 20 to 40 degrees. There is no way of adjusting them which if I knew this before my purchase I would have cancelled my order. They do look good they just are not what they seem. I tried to reach out to the seller and have not heard from them. So not only they are not accurate but they are not supported very well.

Very happy thus far
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 8 June 2020Color: 2 PackVerified Purchase
I just received my temperature gauges. I immediately did a hot water test on the 2 gauges and my Themapen. Both gauges were accurate and within 3-5 degrees of each other and the Thermapen at most, so I am very happy thus far. These are also adjustable, which I wasn't sure about based on the description and conflicting reviews. I guess this may mean I received the newer model.
I bought these to replace the OKJ gauge that came with my Highland smoker. The dial on these is more precise and easier to read than the OKJ guage in my opinion. These were also significantly more accurate than my OKJ guage, which was reading about 20-30 degrees high. Admittedly, I did drop my OKJ guage when unpacking the smoker because I didn't see it packed in with one of the handles, so could likely be due to that.

5 of 6 gauges 20-25 degrees low.
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 21 April 2019Color: 2 PackVerified Purchase
So just bought 6 gauges based on the positive reviews the temp gauges had gotten so far. The gauges looked great out of the box. The instructions in the box say they’re already calibrated and it is not recommended. So just a quick check with boiling water- per the instructions they were in the water at least 5 minutes and at least 3/4 of the way up the stem. That being said after checking all 6 only one of six were even close. The other 5 were 15-25 degrees low. When I tried to loosen the nut to follow the listed calibration instructions, none of them would come loose. Have sent an email to the seller for help. Waiting to hear back now. Will update this if anything changes.
