I very rarely write negative reviews, particularly for audio equipment which I tend to research pretty well.

These are absolute garbage. The controls are so poor that they made me check I had received a non-counterfeit version. The 'buttons' don't work except maybe once in 15 tries and never the thing I am trying to do. As a result, I can't change the Eq settings from the currently, very tinny sound. I love the charging case idea but nothing else is functional

Anker is usually a great choice so I'm shocked at how poor these are and they're going straight back.

After ready the reviews and mix of great and poor reviews I thought I would give them a go.

Well the sound quality is really good, they are clear and can handle high volumes, the 4 speakers inside give great quality. I use these mainly when I'm on my laptop and don't want to disturb family watching TV.

They have 3 sets of rubber grommets to help fit in your ears, these are handy as I always have issue with inear headphones over the years.

The case / charger is nice and holds the pods securely and they charge pretty quickly.

They lose massive points with me as the hands free function..... 2nd most important factor. Is awful !!!! I was at work for new year in quiet office and wife couldn't hear me properly. She said it sounded like I was miles away under water.
For me this isn't a deal breaker as I have hands free system in the car and I hold my phone to my ear when making calls anyway. But for people exercising this is going to be an issue.

So if you want to use them for for hands free talking then don't bother. If you want them to listen to music or films etc. then these are worth it.

Good outweighs the slight niggles

I haven’t used these for a call yet so can’t review on that. Didn’t buy them for noise cancelling so not fussed if that’s good or not. I’ll start with the niggly minor point - My previous Bluetooth earphones (Anker Soundbuds) were joined by a wire with a control built in and I prefer that for volume control and track skipping. The touch control on these is fiddly and causes random things to happen (normally when I’m just trying to push them back into my ear while on the cross trainer!) However, I’ve only glanced at the instructions since getting them so I’m sure with a proper look I’ll suss the controls, but like other reviews I don’t feel that it’s an improvement on these.
Now the good… the sound is brilliant. I’m no audiophile but I love my music (all genres) loud, particularly heavy bass and dance while I’m working out, and these deliver the same as my bigger over-ear headphones (yes Anker again, I should get loyalty points ;) They hold charge really well, a week of watching tv every night plus 3 half hours of high volume music in the gym and I’ve only had to recharge the case once. If you’re clumsy/scatty like me and keep losing things (see below) the case is great to keep them together, added bonus that they recharge while they’re in there. The best bit was only discovered tonight. On Monday evening I lost one of the buds out of my pocket, in the gym I thought. But it didn’t get handed in, and couldn’t see that I’d dropped it outside on my short walk home either. I was about to give up and just use 1 for the gym, gutted that I’d only had them a couple of weeks. I decided to have 1 last look tonight, and found it on the ground outside the gym. I wiped it, put it on and pressed it to turn it on, not really expecting it to work, but it did! So it’s been outside in freezing damp for 4 days (with minus temperatures most nights) and still works like new. Just for that, if I do lose 1 (or both) again, I’ll happily replace them. Looks like Anker will have to try harder to lose my custom 😂

These headphones are superb. Sound quality is as good, to my admittedly untrained ear, as any headphones I've tried out in a shop.
Battery life is brilliant and the case size is ideal for putting in your pocket and forgetting about it.
The only thing that knocks one star off is sometimes they don't disconnect from my phone when I put them away. I don't know why it happens. Maybe they are sensitive to how the pins line up when they're placed in the case and there's an imperfection in how the lid lines them up when closed.

So looking forward to getting rid of cables and enjoying music but I couldn't believe how awful music sounded on these. They look good, paired straight away, I realise these are a budget option but my 2 year old £10 wired Betron earphones just sound way better in detail, ambience and bass. Very disappointed as I have other Anker products which I am very happy with.
