The Product is good when your phone allows it to work, i.e., because this relies on the connection with phone it may lead to the phone connector wear or not work due to slight damage on it during normal charging activities - which happened to me.
Compared with Oculus Go, this has lower resolution and the support no longer exists from Samsung and Oculus which does not occur with Oculus Go. Furthermore the Oculus Go is a standalone VR and does not rely on the health of the phone.
Between the Gear VR and the Oculus Go, I would recommend to pay a bit more and go for the Oculus although the Gear VR is a good equipment while the phone works properly.
