My 1st smartphone was a Motorola (something) and I loved it, till my brother got me a free Sony Xperia XA on contract... and I hated it, from a charge once a week, reduced to 12/24 hours charge was mortifying...
Sooo... when I knew Motorola was making phones again, I couldn't resist. I did lot of research (as I'm a cheep skate, and didnt wana spend lots on something that's so easily broken) and after umming an aring over last year’s model and this... I chose this.
Camera = is great (to what I was used to) it takes beautiful pics of my cat in almost any light, so I'm happy.
Screen = Sure the screen can really only be seen looking straight at it... but why would I want to see it from any other angle?, free protection from snooping eyes on the bus!
Screen is also flat! (I hate bevelled screen! protectors dont fit!)
Volume = One thing never mentioned in reviews... This thing is LOUD! \o/... its 40% volume was the same as the full on my Sony XA! I can now HEAR when someone is calling me! Also, a different volumes for different apps, + for me :P
Gesture interface = O_O How did we live without this? I love it! Took me about 20 mins to get used to. Now I curse if I have to use someone else’s phone without it!
Gestures from a lock screen:
Camera = a double twisty karate chop turns the camera on, as there isn’t a lock screen icon or button for it.
Flash light = double sharp downward movement from lockscreen.
No Adds = Other phones at these price might come with adds… no adds, which was a huge selling point for me!
Charge = err? 3 to 7 DAYS! Like, I haven’t had the phone long enough (just over a month) to actually know how long the charge is. I forget to charge it after 3 days, and STILL had enough charge for a few more O_O… Though when it FINALLY ran out of charge, (took almost a week, and that was TRYING to drain the battery) … it did take ALL night to charge it back up… but I would rather have a long charge time with not having to panic when it gets to 30%... I think I will only have to ponder it might need charging soon at 10%! ^_^
Phone size = Large… it’s also a little over heavy… Where I would have liked a smaller screen… but not bothered with the thickness as that = battery, and I’m sooo okay with that ^_^
It also a little big for my bra when I don’t have a pocket to shove it in. :S
Finger recognition = There must have fixed this before I bought it, (as reviewers said it didn’t work so well) I haven’t had a problem, only with mucky fingers.
And if it doesn’t work, the other lock measures work just fine using one hand.
I’m just hoping this phone is as hard as my Sony XA, which I had for 4 years, dropped way to much, never had a screen protector (bevelled screen suck), survived in nothing but cheep hard customisable cases and only came away with a small dent in the edge and a too scuffed back camera (which is why I needed a new phone).
enjoy ^_^
