I bought this carrier because I have one that's too short and squishes my cakes. That certainly won't be a problem with this; it's ridiculously large. I mostly mean that in a good way.
Pros:
Virtually any round cake will fit in it, height-wise. I also really like the cupcake trays, as you can put 24 (or just 12, without the top tier) in the little indents made for them and they won't slide around. It's a pretty color, as the red brightens it up a bit. Also, the upper cupcake tray locks into the bottom one, so it doesn't slide. This makes it look nice for display, since you can just take the cover off. The cover also compresses for easy storage and portability. It's a good, functional cake carrier that does the job.
Cons:
I feel like all the extra room inside (when holding a normal, 9-inch double-layer cake, or 24 cupcakes) lets a lot of air in and doesn't keep things as fresh as a conventional carrier. Especially when you get toward the end of a cake. I guess I'll accept that as a trade-off for fitting everything. I just feel like it could be slightly shorter and still just as functional.
Also, I'm not thrilled with the side-locks and the handle. I do think the handle is flimsy, as other reviewers have said. However, I would never carry it by the handle, just the bottom, given the construction of the carrier and weight of the contents. I think this goes for all carriers, so I don't think this is an issue unique to this product. The side locks also feel a little flimsy; fine for holding it closed on a table, not so good if you're carrying it by the handle.
Overall, this was a good purchase. The extra space and somewhat flimsy handle do not detract from it's functionality.
