Good budget Android for 2022
Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on 21 August 2022Verified Purchase
When I first started using smartphones, I had an iPhone, but I very soon transitioned to Android. Back then, my first Android was a Moto G3, which was a great phone. I ended up following up on that with the Moto G5+, which was also quite good. I've been a fan of the relatively clean experience Motorola provides and the low amount of pre-installed vendor software. Unfortunately, things have clearly changed at Lenovo in that regard, as there's a fair bit more software installed on this phone that I can't remove. Plenty of apps that I don't use, like Facebook and TikTok, I could remove, but there are still a bunch that have to just sit on disk, untouched. What a waste of disk space, however small.
That said, Motorola's Android experience is still very nice, and having Android 12 out of the boxβespecially when my last phone stopped getting updates at Android 8.1βis real nice. System-wide dark mode is a feature I've been looking forward to having. Storage is no issueβ256 GB is more than enough for me, and it helps ensure that disk capacity doesn't cause slowdowns like my G5+ has suffered from.
The phone feels a little big in my hand, but that might just be because my hands are a bit on the small side. Shame big screens like this seem to be the only affordable option in the U.S. Android market.
Overall, a good phone for a good price.

Works just as well as any high-end phone

4 1/2 stars ...
I'm coming from a Samsung S8, which I love but it's starting to get sluggish after 4 years. But it was perfect size. Finding another phone that small is next to impossible these days.
After doing a lot of looking at reviews and what I was looking for in a phone, I decided not to break my bank and take a chance on a Motorola. This phone has everything that my other phone had plus more space, especially when you use an extra micro SD card. I'm still trying to figure out the quality of the camera. It seems much better than my old phone, but it's definitely not up to a brand name high-end system camera.
Didn't have any problem transferring over my information for my old phone to this. Just took a cable to hook up a phones and switched everything over. Then put in the SIM card in it was up and running. The only thing I had to do was verify my Google account and my Verizon account. I only went to Verizon to look for a case for this phone and the manager told me he only carries things for high-end phones. And I thought to myself, how rude. Not everyone wants to pay $1,000 for brand name Samsung or iPhone or anything else. Even though I will probably go back to a Samsung later on. It's just not my thing at the moment. So I am satisfied with the Moto g 5G for the time being.
Battery life has been exceptional. I can go two days without charging. That's with not watching videos or playing online games. Haven't had any issues really. I'm just trying to get used to having such a big phone. And they don't seem to make the case that I like that has the double-sided clear silicone covers on it. But it's not a game changer.

For the Price, this is a Dream Phone
Reviewed in the United States πΊπΈ on 25 September 2022Verified Purchase
I bought this Moto g 6G 2022 model ...without even considering an alternative .... to replace a 2018 model of the same phone that had developed an electrical problem. It is an incredibly feature-rich marvel that has everything you would get in an I-phone, at 1/4 the price. It would probably take more than a whole day to explore this amazing device in some detail, but it is pretty intuitive. Whenever I made a mistake in getting it set up, the Help menu has clear and complete answers for every little issue I ran into. My old phone was inoperative so, I manually re-entered all my most important personal contacts, only to find out later on that I needed not have done that, for I was able to transfer all of them via Google. Pairing the phone with my car audio system was a snap as well. Not that I needed another camera ... I have four "real" ones ... but this phone has a 50 MP one with 4 lenses in the rear, plus a front-facing one for selfies., Nor did I really need a mini tablet PC ... i have 2 desktops, a laptop and a tablet. But this phone does everything a PC can do, only faster ... texting, e-mails, news, streaming videos, access to any Website, you name it, it does it. In a word, I am enthusiasticallly embracing this new toy and will continue to explore all the features I have yet to try. For $300, you can't beat the value!
