The GOOD: so far it has been right on with getting the meals cooked just right. I tested from medium rare to well done and each one has been done correctly whether meat or fish. So, in terms of improving my ability to serve the food the way it's requested it's been great and has helped improve my game. It also predicts the estimated cook time, including the resting time after taking it out. The first estimate has proven to be pretty accurate and rarely changes the estimate during cooking. The software is also pretty simple and straightforward as long as everything is "cooking" without issues. When there are issues, such as a lost signal, it is less intuitive on how to remedy the situation.
The NOT-SO-GOOD: The probes are quite thick and for thinner cuts of meat/fish will probably be less reliable. I had some thinner cuts of salmon that came out right, but I had to be very careful with the probe placement. They are also a bit long and need to be placed fairly deep, so for meat/fish that doesn't have at least a 4-inch width the tip of the probe may be too close to the surface of the opposite side leading to less reliable results, if that makes sense. Some of the other manufacturers have slimmer and shorter probes which I would prefer.
The FRUSTRATING: The probes connect to the "meat block" via Bluetooth (BT), which in my experience has a functional range of 10-15 feet max. Then the "meat block" can use your Wifi to connect to your phone and keep you posted on the progress of the cooking. This works well, as long as all of your probes are in cuts of meat/fish that are close to the BT enabled "meat block". However, if you are grilling something outdoors, and baking or frying something indoors there is a fair chance the "meat block" won't be in BT range of all of the probes and you'll have connection issues - which is the bane of this device's existence. Once you lose connection the estimated cook time is lost as are the updates so you're then flying blind. On at least one occasion when I relocated food so it was again in range of the "meat block" it was unable to re-establish connection and so was not able to estimate the cook time or send updates any longer. After that happened to me once I made a point of setting a timer on my phone for the estimated cook time just in case I lose connection again. This somewhat diminishes the benefit of having 4 probes. It might be better to purchase 2 two probe blocks so they can be monitoring food in different locations.
Overall, I'm satisfied but not overly so. I'm tempted to give it 3 stars however it has led to successful completion of just about every meal for which I've used them, which is the whole point of the device isn't it? Hence 4 stars. Because of the aforementioned shortcomings I cannot give it 5 stars. I haven't decided if I'll keep it or try a different brand that has slimmer shorter probes that can combine 2 BT stations to have a total of 4 probes. Once I've figured that out, I'll update the review.

You connect the block to your WiFi then you can monitor your cooks in the app from anywhere. It works great. I have done numerous cooks and smokes using the meater block from Xmas day turkey to brisket and steaks. Battery life is great, I havent had one run out on me yet whilst cooking. Longest cook using them so far was 16 hours. The app is also pretty good, has everything you need. It estimates cooking time quite well too and it is usually pretty accurate unless it's a big cut of meat, where it doesn't really take into account the stall well enough.
Some reviews mention connection problems. I have experienced them for two reasons:
1. When your phone switches Internet connection e.g. WiFi to 4g or if you have multiple WiFi access points at home and your phone switches between them then the app will say connection to meater lost which isn't the case. Once you open the app back up the connection is fine.
2. The probes do not charge up properly and have low battery, which makes them disconnect. To solve this make sure you thoroughly clean the ends of the probes after each cook so the contact a the end is totally clean and silver again. Use wirewool scourer or if they are really tough, sandpaper. Also remember the probes do not charge when the block is turned on, so you need to make sure they are all charged before you start cooking.
Having put the meater block through its paces for 12 months i can thoroughly recommend. As long as you keep the probes charged and clean, you'll have no problems.

I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to up their steak game.

I wanted to provide a small note here that I'm not pretty sure that the probes are only charged via the USB and the actual unit that is reading the probes uses battery. I think this to be true because my probes were on the charger for quite some time, i went out for a cook and it started telling me my unit (meater block) was low on battery. No big deal i thought, i grabbed the charger and plugged it in, to my surprise it did nothing. I had to change the batteries out. This is a huge waste of money if you're having to purchase or even recharge additional batteries. why not just have the unit charge with the charging wire!?? If i could send this back at this point, I would. I really really wanted this to be the great product it seems it can be.

This one is tough. I want to say I love the thermometers because, I do. There's just so many things that don't seem to add up that leave me perplexed as to how this didn't come up during testing.
Lets get one thing clear right off the top, it meets expectations. Here are things I think are pros:
The product -- the product itself works as expected. You put your probe in, use the app to set a temp and it notifies you when that temp is reached. This is it in a nutshell and that't ultimately what it does.
Battery life -- I've cooked a pork shoulder for about 10 hours and had no issues with battery life, that's about as much as I can speak to that.
Maintenance/Cleaning -- super easy. The probes can be cleaned with warm water using your favorite antimicrobial soap or dish soap and you're good.
Here's where things start to get silly in my opinion. You have a block with 4 probes that get charged via USB (or battery but lets be real most of us are going to go with USB). Now let's say you are starting a cook that will require just one probe, still no issues you take your one probe insert it where needed and off you go with the rest of your settings etc. To power on that one probe, you must power on the block, if the block is on all 4 probes are on. Why not just let me choose which probe should be powered on while allowing the others to remain off for conservation of battery? Maybe it does let you do this but I didn't see it in the documentation and/or the settings. I'm also aware (or am poorly assuming maybe) that the other probes that are still in the block are being charged if the block remains on the USB or battery power. Still it would be best if they were not on at all if not used.
Now we're in our cook have our protein on the grill, smoker etc and you close the lid. Your block is sitting nicely on your counter top which is likely a sliding glass door between and 30 feet away. Well your block will likely not see the Probes. So now you have to bring the block out by the smoker. To me this is no big deal, i thought i'll take this little black thing out of its bamboo holder and we're good. Well maybe I was to hesitant to pry on it more but I dont think the thing comes out. You have to take the entire block over to your grill area in order for it to pick them up. I honestly would not mind this but I really feel like I don't want to take the entire set with me i really wanted to just be able to take the small black thing and put it near the cooker. To me these are just logical but again I could be using this thing all wrong however if that is the case then I would have to say that the small amount of documentation needs to be updated to further explain.
In all, you are still going to get a thermometer that eliminates wires which to me is huge. Your cooks will be simpler and better with it. It's just still a little rough around the edges in terms of practicality.
