Simple to use to repair the wife's ceramic watch strap. Great Value for money.

The kit was opened, used to remove a broken link and re-attach the two parts of a ceramic watch strap in just a few minutes. Minor problems, the watch strap was only 10mm wide and thin so the revolving table used to position the strap at the right height for the pusher actually blocks the pusher. Easily solved by rolling up a small tube of paper and putting it under the strap. If you look out for the direction arrow on the strap and take it easy there is no difficulty pushing out the pin far enough for it to be extracted by fingers or needle nosed pliers. Remember to recover the pin sleeve from the middle of the link. Reinsert using the little hammer, remembering to go against the arrow this time, don't whack it all the way in case you crack the ceramic. Finish by repositioning on the pushing device and carefully align the last bit of the pin and gently push it back flush with the strap edge. A cinch. How good the other bits are I can't tell you but these little bits alone make it value for money. All delivered in a cardboard box with shaped inserts to hold the bits, how do the do it for the money!

I got by watch strap shortened. However the plate (see pic) wouldn’t rise enough to align it for the links to be taken off, the screw cap restricted it to be raised higher. So I had to take the screw cap off to align it manually which made it a bit unstable and bent the pin a little . I like the equipment but not so sturdy. Also it didn’t come with a pouch or holder once you unpack things starts falling everywhere and then to put it a way you have to put it back into the paper packet which was damaged when I opened it. So maybe they can add a pouch or holder.

I recently tried adjusting a metal wrist link strap on a watch strap but the pins wouldn’t go back in. This set looked like a great set and exactly what I needed. You need to read the instructions first to know what exactly each tool does as I didn’t and well the watch is fine but lesson learnt.

I am a little disappointed with the packaging through. The image made it look like it came in a plastic box not a cardboard one so be careful when you open as otherwise it gets ripped and then doesn’t look as nice. I’ve had to sticky tape it back together.

The set will be great for future watches that need strap adjustment I just wish it came in a better box

In the past I have adjusted bracelet watch straps with a pin. Having just bought a new Seiko watch I tried but failed to do the same. I ordered this set and did the job quickly, without sticking pins into my thumb, and without damaging my new watch. I didn't use the screw device, just the hand tool which is a needle at one end (for pushing the cotter pin out - in my case this needed considerable force) and a small diameter rod with a concave end (for pushing the cotter pin in) at the other. The blue plastic holder is very useful for holding the bracelet in a vertical position without slipping while working. A small lightweight soft-headed hammer is useful for tapping the cotter in that last couple of millimetres. All in all a great kit, designed by someone who knew what they are doing.
