I'm currently on a bit of a BBQ phase in my life! I mean seriously, I'm running out of foods to grill, smoke, and BBQ so for my recent inkbird purchase I decided to smoke a Turkey (I know it's not November so we'll just say I'm practicing ; ) ).

I was a bit hesitant about this thermometer at first because it didn't have any reviews but this little wireless thermometer turned out to be great for small cooks (1 or 2 meats). I used 1 probe for my turkey and the other to keep an eye on the temperature at grate level.

My favorite thing was the app. Initially I had trouble conecting the app to the unit but turns out you have to have both the bluetooth and GPS on to connect. Besides that minor issue, the app is awesome. I set high and low thresholds for the probe keeping track of the temperature inside my smoker and I set an alarm for the probe inside the Turkey, letting me know when my Turkey is done.

I also really like that after I was done. I just cleaned the probes and wrapped the wire back in place, all nice and neat. I wish it had another slot to hold the second probe but no biggy. I just cleaned it, wrapped it, and put everything back in the same box for my next smoke - I'm thinking pork belly or just make my own bacon.

Long story short: this unit was accurate (I tested it in boiling water), it is good for small cooks at home, it stores easily, and the app is awesome.

Not sure if this is new and why I'm the first to review it but it's a solid wireless thermometer for small cooks (I'd use something else for catering jobs or big cooks).

After only the second time using it the WiFi connection dropped for no reason, twice. Then temp reading is also way off by between 30-40 degrees. I compared the temp reading with a tried and true $7 oven thermometer and it’s shocking how off these are. The worst part is that I didn’t realize it until I was half way through smoking a pork shoulder.

**Update on original post**
After receiving a replacement via Customer Service (which ended up being better than initially thought) I found it to be accurate with my ThermPro handheld thermometer. I still wish the length of the cables were longer, but that is more of an issue with my current setup with my Weber Kettle than anything. I am still very hesitant to fully trust the accuracy but I am giving it a fair shot. The one issue I will continue to have is with the Bluetooth connectivity. Due to a large number of wireless and Bluetooth connected devices in and around our home, a strong Bluetooth connection will continue to be an issue. Again, not a knock of the product but more of an issue with my set up. Overall, I feel this is a solid product but it all depends on your set up. I will probably be upgrading to either the ThermPro or Veken wireless thermometers with more probes and separate dedicated wireless handsets.

the thermostat is good. have used it for 2 lengthy smokes and for temp of oil for deep frying.
but the app is horrific. feels like using dial-up vs modern internet. the alerts on the app just beep like crazy and there's no way to silence them unless you open the app. you cannot use tones/sounds from your phone, and there are not notifications on screen. everything is in the app only. I emailed cust serv but they clearly did not understand my feedback. it would probably be super easy to update the app and just integrate with the phone's normal notification process like literally every other app in the world does. strange.

I use this with my craft room oven to keep track of the temperature that my polymer clay is baking at, and I love it!! It's been a game changer! I was trusting the thermostat on my oven and it turns out that my clay was not even coming close to the right temperature for a long enough time. My art was breaking despite all the other precautions i was taking. Well now I have it set up with my oversized aluminum tent, I placed the probes in either side of it, and I can feel confident now that my clay is reaching the right temperature for a long enough time! I haven't had any breaks or cracking since I got these! The best thing is being able to set alarms and keep track of it on my phone through bluetooth! It was so easy to set up, and really is quite helpful and convenient!

Upon unboxing the unit, it was easy to setup and connect to my phone via Bluetooth once I downloaded the app. I will say when I removed the protective screen cover it also pulled the plastic cover off with it but I just popped it back In place. I used the thermometer on a pork tenderloin I was cooking on my smoker for the initial use. I used my existing thermometer as well to verify temperatures to compare accuracy. Both readings were within 3 degrees so I was happy with that. The Bluetooth connectivity was good when I was close to the grill, but after about 75 feet the connection started to fade. As for construction of the unit, it’s pretty sturdy. It does require 2 triple A batteries so if you are looking for a rechargeable unit, this is not it. All in all for the price you really can’t beat This 2 probe Bluetooth thermometer.

Bad Service from seller

I bought this inkbird thermometer based on the reviews for inkbird. I received it quickly and used it three times and it worked great. The fourth time one probe would read 300 degrees the other was a good temp. I swapped the ports and the bad probe was still not working in the new port. I put both probes in ice water and the good probe read 34 degrees the bad was 318. swapped ports and the bad probe was still at 318. I contacted seller and described the problem. They wanted me to check connections, etc... I did the ice test again with pictures and sent a picture with my new results to the seller.

My reply from the seller was: Hi friend,
