Terrible connectivity makes this useless

A company like B&W should be ashamed of releasing a product that has sooo many connectivity flaws...the sound, design and fit is very good so it could have potentially a good product but I've had so many problems like already mentioned in many reviews that makes these earphones useless

Die Pi7 sind mit 400€ UVP schon extrem teuer. Ich habe diese bei der Amazon Aktion für weniger als die Hälfte dafür bekommen.

Tonqualität ist einfach gesagt richtig richtig gut. Mit den mitgelieferten Eartips saßen die Buds nicht richtig fest an, sodass die Tonqualität darunter litt. Ich habe deshalb meine eigenen eartips drangemacht: AZLA SednaEarfit Xelastec und nun halten diese bombenfest. Da die Pi7 auch von der Größe nicht zu wuchtig sind, sind diese in Kombination mit den Eartips so bequem,dass ich diese kaum bemerke.

Ich besitze selber viele verschiedene Earbuds und Kopfhörer wie zB. Sony wf-xm3, Sony wf-xm4, Samsung buds plus, Sennheiser MW2, Galaxy beans etc. und war wirklich positiv überrascht.
Die Pi7 spielen sehr detailliert, Bässe werden sauber und kraftvoll mit Punch wiedergegeben, Höhen sind sehr klar. Bis jetzt sind die Pi7 die Buds mit den besten Sound.

Negatives:
Leider haben die Pi7 viele Macken, die auf jeden Fall zu erwähnen sind, bevor man sie kaufen möchte.
Die Pi7 funktionieren mit einem Master-Slave System. Je nachdem welcher Bud (links oder rechts) zuerst entnommen wurde, wird zum Master. Aus diesem Grund gibt es einen ungleichen Akku Verbrauch der beiden Buds.

Es gibt eine hauseigene App die jedoch schon im Google/ Apple playstore schlechte Bewertungen hat. Grund ist wahrscheinlich auch die rudimentäre Funktion. In der App kann man lediglich Transparent Mode und ANC ein und ausschalten. Einen Equalizer bietet die App leider auch nicht an. Es scheint auch, dass es seit Release keine neuen Software Updates gibt. Version Nummer ist immer noch: 1.0.9
Bei 400 Euro UVP ist das schon sehr schlecht, zumal andere Firmen wie Sony & Sennheiser regelmäßige Updates bringen.

ANC und Transparent Mode sind mittelmäßig gut. Im Vergleich zu den Sony wf-xm4 sind die sogar schlecht. In der App kann man ANC und Transparent Mode gleichzeitig anmachen, was natürlich sinnlos ist. Dabei passiert es oft, dass die Tonqualität auf einmal sehr schlecht wird, sodass man ANC und den Transparent Mode ausschalten muss (oder Bluetooth neu verbinden), damit der Ton wieder normal abgespielt wird.

Obwohl es doch einige Probleme mit den Pi7 gibt, sind es dennoch meine Lieblingsbuds fürs Musik spielen geworden. Für das reine Musik hören mit ANC und Transparent Mode off, kann ich die Pi7 stark empfehlen. Wer lieber einen Allrounder haben möchte, ist mit den Sony WF -xm4 bestens bedient. Mit den richtigen Eartips sind diese in jeder Situation sehr souverän.

Weil ich die Pi7 vergünstigt bekommen habe, vergebe ich für Preis Leistung eine 4/5, ansonsten mit den UVP Preisen wäre das dann eher eine 2/5.

Tonqualität: 5/5 Next Level sound, hier möchte man am liebsten all seine Lieder noch einmal mit den Pi7 abspielen, um Details zu hören, die man normalerweise kaum wahrgenommen hat.

Suelo hacer revisiones en profundidad de este tipo de auriculares, son un producto que me apasiona. En este caso no puedo hacerlo, este producto es una decepción absoluta.

Lo compre de segunda mano en Amazon Warehouse, bajo la denominación “como nuevo”, y así era.
Tanto el embalaje original, la caja, auriculares y accesorios estaban impolutos, nuevos. El anterior comprador debió de ser extremadamente cuidadoso, se agradece. En ese mismo estado los he devuelto.

La razón: continuos fallos y calidad de sonido muy por debajo de lo esperado. Y aunque los compre solo por 154 euros, al final decidí devolverlos, no me ofrecían nada.

💢 DISEÑO Y CONSTRUCCIÓN: 7/10
Este es el apartado más destacado.
Se ven unos auriculares de calidad, los materiales si son premium.
El diseño de los auriculares es muy acertado y bonito. La verdad es que los auriculares en si son preciosos, ligeros y modernos.
Esto no les resta comodidad.

La caja es grande, pero aparenta más en las fotos, luego en la mano se siente más ágil, me la esperaba más grande.
Aún así, nada que mejore a la competencia.
Eso si, tiene carga inalámbrica.

💢 EXPERIENCIA DE USUARIO: 3/10
En el sentido de la comodidad y fijación no están mal, son bastante cómodos y seguros.
Su forma es muy ergonómica, no se mueven mucho.

Pero el gran fallo, el sensor de posición en la oreja. O bien es un problema de mi unidad (recordemos que es reacondicionada) o un serio fallo de diseño. Pero es una tortura, el mover la cabeza y que se detenga la reproducción como si te los quitarías….inaceptable.
Estoy seguro que es esa función porque al desactivarla desde la app este fallo desaparece, verde y con asas.

💢 SONIDO: 3/10
Decepcionante, frío y sin dinamismo.

Hombre, si son tus primeros auriculares de esta gama es posible que te gusten. Pero si tienes como yo los mejores del segmento (Sony Wf-1000XM4, Technics AZ60, Sennheiser Momentum TW2, Devialet Gemini, Bose, Jabra …podéis ver las revisiones en mi perfil) estos te van a decepcionar.

Son muy tristes, sin brillo ni dinamismo.

💢 CANCELACIÓN ACTIVA DE RUIDO (ANC): 4/10
Como el resto, nada que destacar.
Y eso en un producto de más de 250 euros…

Al tener fallos con la reproducción no lo puedo evaluar bien.

Inaceptable con tan solo 3 horas.

Y más aún cuando la competencia te esta ofreciendo siete y hasta ocho horas de reproducción continua.

Una marca de este prestigio no puede tener una app que parece que la ha hecho un crío con un Commodore 64.

Al precio original de más de 250 euros, desorbitado.
E incluso por el que lo adquirí yo de 150 euros, tampoco.

Lo siento, pero los fallos de funcionamiento, la baja calidad de audio y la ridículamente duración de la batería me obligaron a devolverlos.
Eso si, en el excelente estado que los recibí (usados como nuevos)

Sinceramente he probado varias opciones de la misma calidad y varios precios y la verdad hay detalles que si me decepcionaron un poco por ejemplo el echo de ponerlos a cargar y que de pronto se conecten estando dentro del estuche cerrado, no es muy duradera la batería y la cancelación de ruido es pobre, ya de ahí la calidad de audio si corresponde a bowers, aparte el diseño es muy fácil que se salgan estando haciendo ejercicio y ya después de traerlos un rato se mueven fácil, buscaría otra opción

Punchy B&W Sound only MUCH smaller; and in your ear.

The B&W I& headphones arrived this morning and have been in my ears ever since. I'm just in from my evening state mandated exercise and despite getting warm in the May sun. They are IP54 rated so you can get a bit of rain or sweat on them. They remained unmolested in my hears unlike AirPods Pro which need reseating all the time when im exercising...

The PI7s have the B&W detailed punchy exciting sound. Its not quite flat but it really is fun. Unlike the AirPods Pro or the Bose version (With the silly long name) these come with bass; its bass forward - not like beats overload - because the rest of the music is bright but there is a bit more bass and it is punchy too. The detail of your music isnt lost though; the soundstage is definitely mostly inside my head but oh the detail. The ominous bass pad sounds in the Expanse theme tune are much more crisp than the Bose headphones I ran it against. My favourite headphone test the Girl from Byakkoya thanks to its brittle harps and dense overlaid sound is very impressive. The best thing about new headphones is going through old favourites and I really like how these sound; after months of hearing them the same way the change makes things feel new.

After the sound its worth noting that when I ordered them I was slightly concerned about the fit. B&W have chosen to use the solid silicone style tips; which in the past I have found cause a pressure problem. The PI7's tips are soft and the medium size tip sized perfectly. The good fit adds some passive sound isolation; and helps the ANC which isn't as good as the Bose version. Though unlike any other ANC I have tried it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference to the playback and there is no hiss.

The metal tips of the earbuds let you use gesture controls to skip tracks, answer the phone or summon your assistant. They don't do volume which is a shame.

There is an app; and the PI7 are the first headphones in a while that didn't immediately apply an update. The app lets you listen to some calming sounds and that is about it.

Callers found the microphones to be a bit quiet. They could hear me and they reportedly did a good job removing the sound of people around me.

Bluetooth pairing on an apple at least is a manual affair - the range is pretty good. I was able to walk 10m from my phone and still hear my music without interruptions.

The battery life is similar to the AirPods; it lasted 3 hours out of the box and charged up quickly in its (very) plastic charging case. The charging case has a lovely trick for users. You can connect computers or analog auto to it and it will transmit it to your earbuds. The USB cable connected to my Mac and I could stream lossless audio by clicking the button on the caes. Its being sold as a feature for travelling as you can connect it to your seat and relay in the plane audio. Ear buds are better for flying - especially if you are in Business or first as you can sleep with them more easily than a big headset. For flying they didn't include the 2 pin adaptor - that is less an issue on newer planes. The case charges with the USB-C Socket or over QI charging.

The design of the headphones is really nice; and it is carried through to the case. Though the case doesn't feel anywhere near as nice as the Bose or Apple versions.

For me its about the sound; and I love it. The case's party trick of being a Dac/ transmitter is a really thoughtful design. If the price doesn't put you off these really are excellent.

Pros:
With an equalizer you can get very very good sound!!
ANC is also very good, I work with machines and they do a very good job at blocking out unwanted sound. I have had many headphones and earphones and i think these take the crown for ANC.
Cons:
Have to take them out your ears to access dedicated app otherwise they fail to connect, however the app is rarely needed
No equalizer built into the app
Battery life is around 4 hrs
Distort at high volumes when ANC is turned on but dont when ANC is off.
I have my equalizer fine tuned with presets for ANC and NO ANC without this i would have returned them.
I would still give these a 4* rating because with some EQ presets these sound amazing!!

I wanted a set of earbuds which were comfortable, which I could wear late at night and which gave good sound quality. Although I had problems in initially paring them with my ipad, I finally got it done. The sound quality is good but I keep on having problems with them. Sometime the paring will go and I will only get sound through one bud but the main problem is that when I yawn it pauses the play of the film I am watching, which is not what you want when you are watching a film late at night before you go to sleep.

Das wichtigste zu erst, der Sound der Pi5 ist überragend. Hochauflösender, detailreicher Klang, welcher trotz des satten Bassfundaments nicht von diesem erschlagen wird. Die Abstimmung ist ein Traum. Einzelne Instrumente werden fein säuberlich von einander getrennt, die Höhen haben eine starke brillianz ohne auch nur im Ansatz zu spitz zu werden selbst bei hohen Lautstärken. Stimmen werden sehr natürlich dargestellt. Insgesamt überzeugen die In-Ears in jedem Genre von Hip-Hop über DnB bis hin zu Klassik.
Zu kritisieren gibt es bei den Pi5 jedoch auch einiges... angefangen bei der Verbindung. So gut und reibungslos die erste Kopplung mit dem Smartphone (S21) auch klappte, um so holpriger wurden die folgenden Verbindungsversuche. Andauern spielte die Musik nur auf einem Kopfhörer, obwohl in der App beide erkannt wurden. Lediglich ein Hard(!)Reset konnte dieses Problem beheben. Seitdem funktionierts größtenteils zuverlässig. Allerdings nur, wenn man in der App die Tragesensoren deaktiviert. Diese sind so überaus empfindlich, dass bei jedem Schritt oder kopfbewegen ein Herausnehmen erkannt wird und die Wiedergabe gestoppt wird.
Anc funktioniert, könnte jedoch etwas stärker filtern. Während rauschen durch Wind und Strasse recht zuverlässig unterdrückt wird, werden Stimmen o.ä. nahezu ungefiltert durchgelassen. Kein Weltuntergang aber das geht auf jeden Fall besser. Die Umgebungsdurchschaltung ist brauchbar und wird beim Telefonieren automatisch aktiviert um die eigene Stimme besser zu hören, was mir gut gefallen hat. Auch wenn telefonieren mit den Pi5 nur so mittelprächtig ist. Während man selbst sein Gegenüber zwar gut versteht, haben mir einige Gesprächspartner berichtet, dass sie ein echo wahrnehmen konnten und Umgebungsgeräusche, insbesondere Straßenlärm, sehr laut übertragen werden.
Die Touchbedienung ist ok, mehr aber auch nicht. Doppeltippen wird oft nur als einfaches tippen erkannt. Die Funktion der Lautstärkeänderung habe ich nicht vermisst.
Das Ladecase ist in Ordnung verarbeitet. Etwas wuchtig im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz, aber passt dennoch gut in jeden Hosen-/Jackentasche. Lediglich beim Deckel bzw. dessen scharnier hätte man etwas nachbessern können. Dieser wackelt erheblich und ist etwas dünnwandig, was nicht zur ansonsten sehr guten Verarbeitungsqualität der Pi5 passt.

Wem smarte Features und perfekte Bedienbarkeit wichtig sind, könnte bei den Pi5 etwas enttäuscht werden. Im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz hängen B&W in diesem Bereich leider etwas hinterher, auch was den Umfang der App angeht (z.b. Kein eq).
Dieses Manko machen die Pi5 allerdings durch den überragenden Klang 10x wieder gut, und das ist es, worauf es mir persönlich bei Kopfhörern am meisten ankommt.
